Team arranging project priorities

Start with the team’s real friction

Is the issue unclear roles, different communication preferences, competing priorities, unresolved disagreement or a lack of follow-through? Team development is most useful when the work addresses the actual problem. We discuss the team’s context with its sponsor and decide what a session can realistically accomplish.

Where we can help

  • Communication and collaboration
  • Team launches and team resets
  • Role clarity and working agreements
  • Constructive conflict and accountability
  • Cross-functional handoffs and relationships

A structured conversation, with a practical result

A team session can combine Everything DiSC insight with discussion of meetings, decision making, handoffs and escalation. Participants identify the habits that support their work and the habits that get in the way. The group then agrees on a small set of changes it can use immediately.

Support new teams and reset established ones

New teams can establish expectations before unhelpful patterns take hold. Established teams can revisit assumptions after growth, a leadership change or a demanding period. Cross-functional groups can work on the points where responsibilities meet, rather than expecting a general team-building activity to solve process problems.

Make the agreements visible

Useful outputs include a team charter, communication agreements, clear decision responsibilities and a follow-up plan. The team leader has an important role in modelling the changes and revisiting them. Spectrum can facilitate a later check-in to review what is working and where further adjustment is needed.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a recreational team-building event?

The focus is work: relationships, communication, decisions and commitments. Sessions can be engaging and interactive while remaining connected to a clear business purpose.

Can a workshop fix unclear responsibilities?

A workshop can help identify and discuss them. Some issues still require a sponsor or leader to make decisions about roles, resources or authority.
