Design the meeting around its purpose

A full agenda does not guarantee a useful meeting. We clarify what the group needs to understand, discuss or decide, then design a process that gives each part the right amount of attention. Preparation can include sponsor conversations, participant input and a review of relevant background material.

Where we can help

  • Strategic planning and leadership offsites
  • Team alignment and working agreements
  • Survey-results discussions and action planning
  • Stakeholder sessions and focus groups
  • Structured conversations during change

Support participation and constructive challenge

The facilitator helps the group work with different perspectives without losing the thread of the discussion. That can mean drawing out quieter voices, testing assumptions, clarifying disagreement and distinguishing a decision from an unresolved question. The aim is progress that participants understand.

Capture decisions and responsibilities

We agree in advance on the outputs the session should produce. These may include strategic priorities, decision criteria, a team agreement or an action plan. Clear ownership and follow-up dates help the work continue after the meeting ends.

Use the right format for the group

Sessions can be in person or virtual. A leadership offsite, stakeholder consultation and team reset require different preparation and facilitation methods. We tailor the process to the participants, purpose, available time and sensitivity of the conversation.

Frequently asked questions

Will you develop the agenda with us?

Yes. We clarify the intended outputs and design an agenda around them, including any preparation participants should complete.

Do you make the decisions for the group?

No. The facilitator supports the process. Decision authority remains with the appropriate people in the organisation.
